In honor of the brave men and women who fight fires in the Magnolia state, the Mississippi Firefighters Memorial Burn Association will host its first annual "Hearts for Heroes" Gala and Award Ceremony on February 11, 2010. The event will be held at the newly renovated King Edward Hotel, now known as the Hilton Garden Inn, in downtown Jackson.
We would like to encourage each fire station to recognize outstanding firefighters through nominations in the following categories:
I. FIREFIGHTER OF THE YEAR
II. ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
III. CHIEF OF THE YEAR
IV. FIRE STATION OF THE YEAR
We understand that choosing "just one" in each category will be a difficult task, but we feel that it is important to recognize those men and women who work diligently to save the lives of our fellow Mississippians. Each individual and fire station nominated will receive a certificate and the recipient in each category will receive a beautiful award and press release to the local media.
Since this is our inaugural year, we need your help! We kindly ask for your assistance in helping us compile a list of worthy candidates. Recipients will be selected by members of our MFMBA Board of Directors. To nominate a firefighter or station, simply contact me via e-mail or phone.
